WELCOME! I am an assistant professor in the Biology Department at Florida Southern College. As a behavioral ecologist, I am interested in the evolutionary design of animal signals. My research addresses questions about:
- the influence of environmental factors (e.g., habitat light, predation pressure) on signal structure
- mechanisms of signal production
- signal perception and the information conveyed by signals
- the adaptive significance of convergence and diversification in signal structure
